In 1977, Sting, Stewart Copeland, and Andy Summers became a turbulent musical force known as The Police. The impact they had on music, fusing punk spirit with reggae, jazz, fusion and world music, is still felt in the world today. Since we couldn't round up the actual members of the band, we found the next best things- New York's Finest, a NYC based Police tribute band. Members Oscar Bautista and Alan Camlet sat in with me as we discussed the origins of the band, what convinced them to dye their hair blonde, their darkest record, how many recordings they still owe A&M records, and the worldly dish we have equated them with.
